meeting the needs of children

Summer Camps

During the summer months when Palestinian children are out of school for three months, since 2004 Humans without borders has been organizing a summer camp for the children of the Jahalin Bedouin in the village of Anata, East Jerualem. Children ranging from the age of 3 to 14 spend a week of song, dance, games, and a clay workshop. The climax of the camp was the outing to the Funland water park in Ramallah, where the mothers enjoyed themselves as well. In 2007, 85 children attended the camp.
This year we hopes to have camps in other villages reaching more and more disenfranchised children. The cost of the camps appears so minimal but without help it feels astronomical. The summer camps are staffed by young and enthusiastic Israeli volunteers.

School Supplies

At the beginning of each school year, Palestinian villages contacted humans without borders organization with requests for basic school equipment for students: school bags, notebooks, crayons and coloring pens, drawing paper and even sports shoes and clothes or anything else that can help schoolchildren. HWB meets these requests as funds permit, and delivers the supplies to the villages for distribution.
